Went to having information technology installed again after Hotmail(which Silverlight broke) went to Outlook. However, if you update, best to uninstall old version first, otherwise you are left with TONS of one-time version multi-language pack reference entries in your registry, and they can really pile up after a few updates.

No Problem
Got rid of Silverlight because information technology was breaking the 'Insert' functions of Hotmail. Who woulda thunk that an MS product would break another MS production. Style to become Microsoft. Keep up the good work. Other than that and the prior gripe I mentioned nigh the Silverlight, information technology does do meliorate than Adobe Flash IMO, but merely ain't catching on. I doubt it will be around much longer. At that place's only ane site in the by year I came across that required it, and that was a auto dealership, so I moved on elsewhere.
At present ii stars for breaking Hotmail. Don't know if this version resolves that trouble, but I just don't care enough to accept it installed anymore.
Tin only give information technology iii stars due to TONS of multilanguage entries left behind in registry with EACH security update. Took forever to delete them all. Hey Microsoft, give the option to do either English or Multilanguage install like SUN Java does. Me, I went back to Siverlight iv.0.60831.0 and won't update to version 5 unless forced to do and so.
This affair is really pretty good. It uses less CPU than Adobe Wink.

I only use information technology for web radio just if you disable it along with the wmp plugin, IE9 really starts similar a normal browser instead of like a gaming software. This wasn't working in anything but IE earlier this latest update.

As to it being good or bad. My opinion is it gets the task done. I would rather see more than standards based approaches when and where possible using technologies like these only when advisable but I felt the need to provide accurate info.
Silverlight is alright but not the greatest equally information technology is a Windows only, i would rather have something in a better linguistic communication like Java or something else that is cross platform.

This is still the 4.0.50524 version.
Went to having it installed again after Hotmail(which Silverlight bankrupt) went to Outlook. However, if you update, all-time to uninstall former version offset, otherwise you are left with TONS of quondam version multi-language pack reference entries in your registry, and they can actually pile up later on a few updates.

Can only requite information technology iii stars due to TONS of multilanguage entries left behind in registry with EACH security update. Took forever to delete them all. Hey Microsoft, give the option to exercise either English or Multilanguage install like Dominicus Java does. Me, I went back to Siverlight four.0.60831.0 and won't update to version 5 unless forced to practise then.
This thing is actually pretty practiced. It uses less CPU than Adobe Flash.

Dear Silverlight, delight die!
I detest this stupid framework.
Information technology's a resource pig/monster.
It is Non cross platform.
Because the API'south and other stuff it uses are heavily patent-encumber t.
Besides it's MS product, with all the typical stuff: dull+bloated+lock-in-to-other MS-products.
Everybody, if you lot feel frustrated blog most Silverlights deficiencies. Information technology deserves it. Because it'southward everybody's business. (MS slogan)
